The Hotel Portillo thrives on facilities and service, experience Chilean wine tasting or try the local firewater in the discotheque. If you are spent after a busy day on the ski slopes you may wish to take the relaxing option of lazing in the heated pool overlooking the Lake of the Incas (Lago del Incas). Portillo attracts an international crowd, many of whom have been making an annual pilgrimage to the steeps that have previously laid claim to the World speed record, including several national ski teams come here each summer to train and ski equipment manufacturers shoot for their publicity.
The Hotel Portillo's two adjacent lodges, the Octagon & Inca Lodges are the only other options, so the maximum 450 guests ensure there are no long lift lines.
