Chilean Volcanoes Backcountry Tour
Pucon Villarrica, Lonquimay & Chillan Volcanoes
The Chilean Volcanoes ski tour takes you deeper into the Andes of Chile and the volcanoes of Villarrica, Lonquimay and Llaima. Using private transport the drive through this beautiful area of Chile can be spectacular and with this excellent opportunity for ski touring to these volcanic craters before skiing down them.
The three descents offer over 15,000 vertical feet of classic volcanic skiing as well as the extensive terrain that the areas offer and which you will explore more in the days between.

Tour Itinerary
- Day 1: Fly into Temuco, where you will meet your guides, after a short drive to Malalcahuello, there is the hotel check-in, group and trip intro, followed by dinner
- Day 2-3: Breakfast, full days touring and skiing on Volcano Llonquimay (2865m / 9400ft) from the base of Corralco Ski Resort, relax in local hot springs, dinner
- Day 4: Breakfast, travel to Llaima and Las Araucarias ski resort, spend the afternoon ski touring on the volcano. Overnight in lodge with dinner
- Day 5: Breakfast, attempt to ski tour to the crater of Volcan Llaima (3125 m/10,253 ft), free afternoon, dinner.
- Day 6: Breakfast, short ski tour, travel to Pucon, hotel check in, prep for tomorrows backcountry ski touring on Villarrica Volcano, dinner
- Day 7-8: 2 days to summit active Volcano Vilarrica (2,840 m/ 9317 ft) Dinner on the town, hot springs and traditional cook out at Mapuche Indian Farm
- Day 9: Breakfast and private transfer to Temuco airport
You need flights to Santiago (SCL), Chile and connect to Temuco (ZCO). Please schedule your flight to Temuco on LAN for the following schedule: Flight LA231 departing Santiago at 10:20 AM arriving to Temuco at 11:45 AM.
On the last day of tour, included is a private group transfer getting us to Temuco (ZCO), Chile airport at 3pm so you can fly to Santiago (SCL). We suggest LAN flight LA232. Departs ZCO: 16:10, Arrives SCL: 17:30. From Santiago you can fly home on an international flight or stay on - Santiago is worth a few extra days. We can arrange hotels, transfers, wine or city tours or you simply want more skiing! Contact us if you need additional services.

Not Included:
- Your round trip international flight to Argentina, airline/airport fees and taxes, train or national flight to Santiago, Chile, required travel insurance, end of trip gratuities to your guides, drinks, and required equipment (see below)
- Required Backcountry Equipment (The following will be available for rent if you do not have your own)
- We require all guests to ride with a minimum of a 29 Litre backpack (up to 35 Lt is ideal) with suitable external harness straps for carrying your skis or snowboard. You will also need a 457 Khz avalanche transceiver, avalanche snow shovel, and probe. For skiers you will need skis set up with either Telemark or an Alpine Touring binding system (Fritschi Freeride, Silvretta Pure, etc). Plus skins and ski crampons. For snowboarders you will need snowshoes with good heal lift and an aggressive crampon. Another option is a splitboard with skins and crampon, but for those with experience only
