Chile offers first class winter skiing in the South American Andes as winter turns to summer in North America and Europe. The 'summer' skiing in Chile is truly World class with three main resorts Portillo, Valle Nevado (part of the Chilean 3 Valleys) & Termas de Chillan, which has recently changed management and is now called Nevados de Chillan.
To ski in Chile is a unique experience in developed resorts with modern lift systems. The wide variety of skiing and snowboarding both on and off trail includes off-piste areas with very few people taking the fresh tracks and easy access to the backcountry for those in search of champagne powder snow. In each of the main three Chilean ski resorts we have a range of accommodation available. There are few apartments in the ski centers, most lodging is in hotels and in the case of Portillo there are two ski lodges of varying standards in addition to the famous Hotel Portillo with it's club style atmosphere.

In Chile the three main ski resorts are: -

• Portillo - Within easy reach of Santiago and famous for it's 'ski club' atmosphere in the main hotel and steep and deep skiing
• Valle Nevado - Closest ski resort to Santiago with the largest ski area and fastest ski lift
• Nevados de Chillan - A short flight or scenic train journey from Santiago, the favorite resort of many skiers or snowboarders who visit South America. The best place to ski volcanoes other than on a guided ski tour
